Simply open your device wi-fi settings and connect to the AKS-Wireless network.
Staff/Student Devices: Use your school network login details
Visitors: Ask for a wireless guest pass at reception and use the username and password on the pass
- Connect to AKS-Wireless.
- Enter your username (without the "@akslytham.com") and password.
- Press Trust when asked about a certificate
- If you have iCloud+ Private Relay, make sure it is turned off for this network - from WiFi press the "i" settings button next to AKS-Wireless, then scroll down to "Limit IP Address Tracking" and disable it.
This will only switch off Private Relay for the school wireless connection, if it is switched on it will remain active on your other connections.
Some sites will appear to not be working if they are blocked or require enhanced filtering. You can view the block messages, and access the sites using enhanced filtering, if you have installed the filtering certificate:
- Open this page on your Mac and download the certificate (or enter the address into your browser): https://intune.akslytham.com/fgca.cer
- Click on Allow when asked about a configuration profile
Then click Close
- Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad, then tap on Profile Downloaded
- Click on Install to set up the United Learning certificate, this is required for the Internet filtering to work.
and then click Install on the warning that pops up:
- Finally in Settings go to General ->About -> Certificate Trust Settings (bottom of the screen) and enable FG100...:
Note: If you have previously connected and have changed your password, you will need to get your phone to forget the AKS-Wireless network before you can set it up again.
